N.G.O Stars: Big Heart & Yuvsatta

Youth can empower the Nation when guided in right direction but can be destructive like forest fire as it happened in Brigade Road of Bangalore on eve of Jan, 1st 2017. Let me take you all on a journey of accomplishments of two Non Govt. Organization-N.G.Os. One from our own Bengaluru named as "Big Heart" a foundation started by Youths comprising of College students and alumni of various Engineering colleges of Bangalore like Sapthagiri College of Engineering. The other organization is based in Chandigarh called "Yuvsatta". Both these organizations are contributing for the Selfless-Service-Eco System of this Nation and also globe through their unique activities.  In 2016 Big Heart members launched an unique Mobile app, called 'Big-Heart' to help patients in need of blood and to connect Blood Donors with needy people. The App was released by Veteran Freedom Fighter Dr. H.S Dore Swamy.

The Big Heart has members who work at various positions from Marketing managers, Designers, Software Developers and big team Volunteers who make their programs a big success. The Three unique projects of Big Heart are: 

1. BigHeart App for Blood Banks
2. Sapno Ke Liye Shiksha for educating underprivileged Children
3. Improve Ecosystem of Social Service organizations    

BigHeart App in Nutshell

It started as pilot project to help citizens who are in the need of blood. Initially a website based system was developed where users can register as donors, it helps the needy to search for blood donors around them. with the launch of website a lot of people in dire situations to provide help. Since, there is always a dearth of donors at the right time and at the right place they thought of coming up with a Mobile App which will facilitate an easier access to donor requirements.

The app developed has three main features they being,

• Savior – To enable users to register themselves as donors

• Enlist- To enable users to register as volunteers

• Request – To enable users to search for donors

Sapno Ke Liye Shiksha Project

Their new initiative is 'Sapno Ke Liye Shiksha', which focuses on providing education to underprivileged children dwelling in various slum clusters of city and suburbs.

Building Ecosystem for NGOs- 'NGO for NGOs'

This initiative of Big Heart is unique one as they are ready to bond with any other NGO and further build an Ecosystem where all NGOs thrive and succeed.

Yuvsatta: A Chandigarh based NGO

Wall of Kindness@ Chandigarh: If You don't need Leave it, If You need Take it

Yuvsatta came to my notice when I read an article about this organization involved in a project called Wall of Kindness in Indian Express newspaper. The project is aimed at donating Clothes and other belongings by hanging them on a Wall mounted with hangers and nails and those who are in need can take it away! Thus anonymity of donors and receivers is maintained. Yuvsatta is also known for various projects like GIRL STAR, HERITAGE TREE, Salute our Soldiers, Green Tire Project etc.
